Hi All
We will be performing maintenance on our Secondary CBS Satellite Dish, in preparation for CBS’s transponder switch to Galaxy 35, 16:00 this afternoon.
- This will not affect the Primary CBS satellite distribution and should have no effect on the current CBS programming.
- The CBS NET2 may be unusable until 16:00 this afternoon. Master Control, please keep an eye on CBS2 before taking it to air, should the need arise,
- instead use IRD4, noted by CBS to be the temporary backup source

Secondary Satellite Distribution Change
On Wednesday June 14th, CBS will migrate our Secondary Uplink services from Galaxy 32 to Galaxy 35 during Non Net service. Dual illumination will begin on Monday, June 12th for 30 days.
The CBS Satellite Management Center will send switch commands to retune your Affiliate Rack IRDs to Galaxy 35C22 using the Affiliate Rack Controller. Stations will be required to repoint antennas to Galaxy 35 @ 93.1°W on the Horizontal Polarity to restore services to the Net 2 output of the Affiliate Rack.
The times for the switches will be:
- East Station @ 16:00 CNYT
- Pacific Network @ 18:00 CNYT
Prior to sending the switch commands, the SMC will remotely tune all Station’s IRD 4 to Galaxy 32C24 to serve as a backup in your master control while you move your antenna. Please note that IRD 4 will be locked to your home base service and may not necessarily match the programming on your Net 1 Output.
